The grade book supports teachers as they build outcomes for learning modules and evaluate student growth towards mastery of these outcomes. The gradebook will book will available to all Canvas users, including those who utilize the free version.

This is a great step in recording different types of assessments. Not every student is motivated by the traditional letter grades. Maybe having a conversation with the student and being able to assess mastery and then record it in different ways may the learning process.
